Easter Sunday is April 4th!

The Choir will be presenting the Easter Cantata:
“Our God Reigns”
On Easter Sunday, April 4th

During both morning services, 8:30 am & 11 am

Please invite your family, friends, & neighbors to
join us in celebrating the resurrection of our Savior!

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY: GPS by 2020!

Across the USA, Baptists are joining hands to share the gospel with everybody by 2020. GPS, or “GOD’S PLAN for SHARING”, encourages every church to reach every home across the continent by prayer walking, gospel distribution, or a personal invitation to Easter services.
Our church has been challenged by Evangelism Chairman, LaVern Bartell and Pastor Tanner to participate in three main projects: (1) Follow up contacts from a nation-wide TV media campaign (March 20– April 11), Prayer walking and door knob tract distribution during March, and (3) a 5-week follow-up process after Easter.

Our Choir’s Easter Cantata, on April 4th, will be the focus of our community-wide attendance effort.

The heart of this effort will lie in prayer commitment. The pastor requests that every member begin to target nearby families, asking God for personal opportunities to witness. Pray especially for new neighbors and those nearby, yet uninvited. By faith, we can call upon God’s spirit
to REVIVE America beginning right where we live and offer ourselves as His messengers!

A Book Review by Chris Trask

Ever since the ascension of Christ, Christians have been looking forward to the return of our Lord. Many of the apostles believed the second coming would take place in their lifetimes. We are now, here in the 21st century closer to Christ’s return than ever before. Most Evangelicals believe in the physical return of Christ and the establishment of the millennial kingdom, but there are numerous theories and beliefs surrounding this doctrine. In his “The Last Days Handbook” Robert P. Lightner, TH.D examines the major positions and differences among evangelical Christians concerning the second coming of Christ. Dr. Lightner gives a fair and unbiased overview of each major view, how the interpretation was arrived at and suggests additional sources of information for further research. He calls for a calm and reasoned debate of the issues while maintaining our focus on the true work of the believer.

A fairly easy read that will expose you to differing views and challenge you as to why you believe the way that you do regarding eschatology. This 200 page book is located in the 200’s.

Sunday School Scoop

By Esther Nagel

SS Children will be singing at the 11:00 am Worship Service on March 28th, Palm Sunday! We welcome all children to join practice at 9:45 am on Sunday’s, in the sanctuary.

Our “Feature of the Month” is Jane Huerta. Jane has 2 sons and 4 grandchildren and is a retired bookkeeper for Hospice. Jane is a newly wed of 10 months marrying her sweetheart, Frank Huerta. Frank & Jane were crowned King & Queen at the annual Valentine Banquet this year! Jane’s hobbies are reading & fishing. She has been involved in the Church Ministry for over 11 years doing numerous positions such as: Hostess Committee, teaching pre-school, Wednesday Evening Meals, etc. and she also volunteers at Parkview Hospital. Asked “Why I Like Sunday School?” her response was… “I have attended SS under Florence & Ed over the past 11 years. Under their leadership, I have not only learned God’s Word, but also how to apply it to my daily life. Each teacher is unique in their method of instruction, yet the common goal is leading just one more soul to God’s Kingdom. Whether a learned scholar or new to God’s Word, Sunday School class is a comfortable place to ask questions, make prayer requests and even weep with a struggling heart in searching out God’ will. Learning is a vital part of being a
follower of Christ. It not only prepares us for the present, but for eternity.”

SS quarterly material has been distributed to the SS classes. SS teachers, if you need changes in your summer order let Esther know by March 8th. The quarterly “Our Daily Bread” devotionals are out for your taking.

“He didn’t ask you to do anything great and mighty. He asked you to believe…” ~Billy Graham

Preschool Church

REVIEW--REVIEW--REVIEW
By Carol Waldenmeyer

It's that time again when we start to review how it all began. Your preschooler is going to have so much fun learning about the very beginning of time and what God had planned for him. It's a great time to spend time with you child as he learns the different stages of our world. Be ready to spend some time with your preschooler. Keep him up a little later so he can watch the stars come out or get him up a little early to see the sun rise. It's beautiful. Help him plant a few seeds in a cup and watch it grow and then plant it in the yard. Be ready to take him to the farmers market when it opens so he can help pick out your food. They enjoy learning where things come from. Does you child know milk comes from a cow and not the super market? Some don't. The best part is when we get to the people. We'll teach your preschooler how special he is to God and what a wonderful gift you are to him. Spend time with your child and make some great memories.

We enjoy each time your preschool comes to class and we miss him when he's not there, so try to have him in class each week. Plan on having your child at church each week by 9:45 to practice the songs they will be singing on Palm Sunday. Thank you for your co-operation. See you at church.
