What Your Preschooler Does at Church

by Carol Waldenmeyer

Even the youngest preschoolers can be part of the worship and learning at church. People enjoy going to church. They sing, talk to God, listen to Bible stories and talk about God and Jesus at church. Preschoolers will learn the purpose of church as we explore the different actions of people at church. Introduce your child to people at church and explain what they do. Get your child familiar with God's word. Let him hold the Bible and look through it as you read to him. Sing songs about God and let him help prepare for the day at church. Children love to be part of the planning. Let your child see that going to church is an exciting time, not a chore. In January, your preschooler will learn to worship in different ways. Singing, Reading the Bible, Helping, and Working together and Learning about Jesus. Live in a way that pleases God. God wants us to follow His guidelines and one of His guidelines is raising your children up in the Lord (Proverbs 22:6) Be sure to have your preschooler in church every week so he doesn't miss the plans that are made for him each week.
