Across Colorado, churches like ours are using a variety of methods to witness for Jesus Christ and plant new fellowships.
Each week this month, we are distributing worship bulletin information, which encourages all of us to PRAY– ENGAGE– SOW– and HARVEST. A special Colorado Missions Offering is being taken across the state. Our goal is $1200.
Several exciting special projects are being launched in our area! For example, the Central Baptist Church, across from Central High in Pueblo has been redecorated and revamped. It is no longer a Spanish speaking ministry.
Another interesting project is the mission now being launched in downtown Florence. A retired pastor from N. Carolina has opened a store-front antique store with a residence and gather area in the rear. They plan to also work with inmate families.
These are just a couple of the many innovative mission projects across Colorado that we should pray for during October. Others include, various resort ministries, disaster ministries, camps, theological schools, and college ministries.
Every Christian should truly be on a mission in their daily life. We should pray and seek opportunities each day to extend the good news to people around us.
See you Sunday,
JT

It is time to start thinking about OCC!!
Opperation Christmas Child
If you are not familiar with OCC, this is a very special ministry that sends shoeboxes filled with gifts, to children in other countries, ranging from ages 2-14. These children are very poor and may not know much about Jesus, but through these boxes, children are receiving love and hope at Christmas time!
Shoeboxes will be wrapped and available for you to pick up from the church in early November. However, it is a good idea to go ahead and start shopping for items now. You may choose a boy or a girl, and the age ranges are 2-4, 5-9, and 10-14.
Please Note- usually the boys in the 5-9 age range get the least boxes collected.
Shopping ideas for all age ranges...
Stuffed animals, crayons & colored pencils, coloring books, small notebooks,
pencils, toothbrush & toothpaste, wash cloth, bath soap, combs, lollipops & hard candy, sunglasses, socks & underwear, t-shirts, small picture books, stickers, kleenex, yo-yos, bouncy balls, hair clips, harmonicas, matchbox cars, etc…
Please do not include these items…
Used items, war-related items, perishable food, liquids, medicines, breakable items, & no Bibles (as they are illegal in some countries).
It is also a good idea to include a photo of you & your family, as well as a letter to your child. If you include your address they may write you back!
Please be praying about getting involved with this ministry! Also, be looking in you bulletins for more information about Operation Christmas Child, as important dates are approaching!

Sunday School News
The Winter Sunday School supplies have been ordered. We increased the Children’s supplies a little in expectation of more children attending SS. At the end of each Quarter we will be announcing in the Newsletter children who have had perfect attendance. Watch for their names. The Quarter is from Sept 1 to Nov 30. We will be working with the Pre-k through 5th grade Sunday School classes in singing at the 11:00 am service sometime in the near future. You will want to invite grandpa and grandma to watch your child sing. Watch for details in next month’s newsletter.
Our “Feature of the Month” is: Eugene Alexander. Eugene is married to Tama and they have one son who is a 1st Lt. in the US Army, presently serving in Iraq. Asked Eugene, “Why I like Sunday School”… “We enjoy studying God’s Word” Eugene is self-employed and likes Sports-Outdoors, all sports, exercising, walking and reading. Watch the Newsletter for next Month’s “Feature of the Month.”
When praying, don’t give God instructions – just report for duty.
Sunday School Superintendent,
Esther Nagel

Preschool Church News
How do you feel when you hear Jesus' name? During October your child will hear his teachers say Jesus' name often and tell things He did. Your preschooler will enjoy hearing Bible stories, looking at pictures of Jesus and listening to songs about Jesus. Help your preschooler continue learning about Jesus at home. Have a family time together to discuss Jesus and what your preschooler is learning. Have a short devotion during breakfast, after dinner or at bedtime. Keep it short until your preschooler is able to listen longer. Bonding in the Lord.
Workers for October:
4th- Sandi Moore
11th- Valarie Elliott
18th Tama Alexander
25th-Jane Huerta
Don't forget to toss a bag of candy in your cart when you go shopping for the Children's Fall Party on October 30th.
Thank you so much for your help!
