The PWBC Annual Church Picnic will be next Sunday, Sept. 6th at 2 pm, at the Pastor’s home in Beulah. There will be potluck food, hiking, and swimming for couples and singles, young and old!Just bring a dish to share (salad, veggie, or dessert). Hot dogs and hamburgers will be furnished off the grill. Drinks and dinnerware will also be provided. There will be maps available on the lobby display table. The drive is about 45 min. Don’t forget to bring a swimming suit for the kids and other “young” swimmers!
Our day to man the State Fair Booth is Friday Sept. 4th from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm. We could still use a couple more volunteers so the rest of us can take some time at the fair. We need someone from 3pm until 7pm. I have two free tickets left so if you would like to work the fair booth with us, come see me. I have all the information packets and tickets for those of you who have already signed up. We'll be giving out water and cookies, plus water bottles (while they last) and tracts as well as making the salvation bracelets with the children. We'll have a nice cool place to visit with people who stop by so we can talk about the Lord with them. It's been a very rewarding experience in the pass so if you're interested see Carol Waldenmeyer.
Choir News!! The first choir practice and organizational meeting will be held Sept 13 at 5 pm Sunday evening in the sanctuary, and then will not meet again until Oct 4. If you wish to sing but cannot attend Sept 13, please see Cheryl Orazem (or call 647-1578) so music can be prepared/ordered for you. The normal choir schedule is to practice for 2 weeks, then be off for 2 weeks while practicing your music on your own with a CD provided. The possible Christmas music is wonderful but we need more voices to do it justice. We are excited about the new members who have already
expressed their interest. There's still room for more! Please come Sept. 13th!!
Wednesday Night Meals will start back up on Sept. 23 at 5:45 pm. If you would like to be on one of the serving teams please contact Diana Tanner.

September: Tanner's Trail
The trail today seems awfully short! Can it be September already? Where did summer go?
Like it or not the fall schedule is upon us and it’s back to school time. Sunday School, that is.
Our new Sunday School director, Esther Nagel, is already enlisting new teachers and preparing for new students. We are hoping to have every available classroom utilized in both buildings for teaching the Bible.
The key to all of these expectations lies in raising our awareness of children and families who don’t attend Sunday School. Look around. Who lives in your neighborhood? If you find kids who don’t participate in Bible Study, invite them to go with you.
Fall is a great time to set new habits and goals. What better way is there to know more about God and His Son, than to participate in regular searching of the Word of God? Talk about life-changing experience!
Thanks especially to all the volunteers who help in this exciting adventure.
See you in Sunday School!

“CRAFTY LADIES” are meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday’s of the month at 1:30 pm in the Educational Building. Bring whatever kind of craft you are working on and come for some fun and fellowship with others. Refreshments are served.
Women’s Bible Study...
The Beth Moore women's Bible study for the fall will begin Sept 15, Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30 pm. The 10 week study of "Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman" is an "in-depth
and very personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther's day, it's tough today. Beth peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to us...in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives."
Member books are $20 and the registration deadline is September 6. Child care is available if you register you child in advance at the sign-up sheet at the display table or call Cheryl. (If you need a morning study, Amazing Grace church hosts “Esther” on Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30, beginning Sept. 9.) Please see Cheryl Orazem for questions.

September: Sunday School
From the Sunday School Director...
Esther Nagel
The August Family Picnic at Funputter Park was a fun time for all. Most everyone enjoyed playing the 18 hole golf course. We thank Cliff Brice for sponsoring a part of the cost. It was a time of getting to know the parents and the children better. What joy the little ones bring to us! They are precious in the Lord’s sight.
Our Feature of the Month is Berta Jones. Berta is married to Ken and they have two children. They moved here from Hawaii 2 and a half years ago. Berta is in the Women’s Sunday School class. I asked her, “Why I like Sunday School?” Her reply… “I enjoy my teacher (Florence) and the fellowship of other women. And because I love the Lord.” Berta is employed by “Visiting Angels” We praise the Lord that she is part of our fellowship.
Our Fiscal Sunday School Year begins Sept. 6th. We have classes for all ages and have created a new class for our young ones. We praise God, as He is bringing in new people to our church with these young children. If you have questions about Sunday School for your child or yourself, please talk with Esther or the Pastor. We would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. There will be new attendance record books for each class starting on Sept. 6th.

Fall Is Upon Us!
by Carol Waldenmeyer
Fall can be a fun time for preschoolers as well as exciting. A few of our preschoolers are starting to school this year. I know it can be a scary time for some who have never been away from home for very long. Make it an adventure for your preschooler. Have a starting to school party with school supplies as gifts. Decorate a pencil box and fill it. Pencils with Bible verses are a good way to teach them to memorize verses. I think all our kids are going to different schools so they'll be making some new friends. Can we count on all of you to pray for our children as they start a new phase in their lives?
Be sure to have lots of outdoor fun with your preschooler. The leaves will be falling and the pumpkins will be getting ready to pick and of course we'll be planning our fall party for October 30th so mark your calendar. I'll be asking for donations of candy for the goodie bags so when the candy comes out in the store, throw a bag in your cart for the kids.
We have several who will be promoted this month. They're so excited about a new class. Some have already met their teacher and seen their class and are looking forward to going to church with Mom and Dad. Fall can be a fun time for kindergartners as they celebrate the wonder of harvest and the excitement of a new school year.
I want to thank all the ladies who have volunteered to take the nursery while Janice is on vacation and I've talked to several preschool church volunteers about working in preschool church next year. We have a new volunteer (Tama Alexander). I appreciate you all so much. I'll have the schedules to you this week. If anyone would like to give an hour once every six weeks to the preschool church (which is doing the second service) please see me. Thank you for your consideration.
In September we will be focusing on the Bible. How it was written, as well as what's in it and how God has planned for us to live. If your child has a Bible please have him bring it to church with him. This will get him in the routine of carrying it to church so when he is able to read it, he'll be comfortable having it with him.
