Fall Is Upon Us!
by Carol Waldenmeyer
Fall can be a fun time for preschoolers as well as exciting. A few of our preschoolers are starting to school this year. I know it can be a scary time for some who have never been away from home for very long. Make it an adventure for your preschooler. Have a starting to school party with school supplies as gifts. Decorate a pencil box and fill it. Pencils with Bible verses are a good way to teach them to memorize verses. I think all our kids are going to different schools so they'll be making some new friends. Can we count on all of you to pray for our children as they start a new phase in their lives?
Be sure to have lots of outdoor fun with your preschooler. The leaves will be falling and the pumpkins will be getting ready to pick and of course we'll be planning our fall party for October 30th so mark your calendar. I'll be asking for donations of candy for the goodie bags so when the candy comes out in the store, throw a bag in your cart for the kids.
We have several who will be promoted this month. They're so excited about a new class. Some have already met their teacher and seen their class and are looking forward to going to church with Mom and Dad. Fall can be a fun time for kindergartners as they celebrate the wonder of harvest and the excitement of a new school year.
I want to thank all the ladies who have volunteered to take the nursery while Janice is on vacation and I've talked to several preschool church volunteers about working in preschool church next year. We have a new volunteer (Tama Alexander). I appreciate you all so much. I'll have the schedules to you this week. If anyone would like to give an hour once every six weeks to the preschool church (which is doing the second service) please see me. Thank you for your consideration.
In September we will be focusing on the Bible. How it was written, as well as what's in it and how God has planned for us to live. If your child has a Bible please have him bring it to church with him. This will get him in the routine of carrying it to church so when he is able to read it, he'll be comfortable having it with him.
